A Little About
Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino is located and operated by the Pueblo of Pojoaque just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Opened in 2008, Buffalo Thunder joined the ranks of the casino elite of New Mexico, included its sister casino, Cities of Gold.
Building on the success of that property, Buffalo Thunder took it a leap further, redefining luxury and excitement in the gaming community of Northern New Mexico. Buffalo Thunder grew under the stewardship of then-Pueblo governor George Rivera, a renowned artist and sculptor. His influence can be found the statuary dotting the property, outside and in. The architecture and design of the building itself lend further this artistic vision. Art from Native contributors statewide, and from many different Pueblos, are displayed proudly throughout the casino, a museum-quality collection with its own curator and worthy of studied perusal.
